I have a 17 year old daughter who is into pretty much EVERY major fandom out there.
I do custom sneakers. In fact, her Doctor Who were some of the very first and were what launched my Etsy shop.
See? That's her name in Galifreyan and I worked FOREVER on that galaxy. Something super cool is she's also a Disney girl and her name has a hidden mickey in it. :D

So... fast forward to today. Her beloved Doctor Who's have seen better days. (But for those who wonder how they hold up.... these are 2 years, 2 months, worn almost every day and survived a foreign exchange trip as well) but it IS time for new ones.

So this morning, I used my creative side to dive in and plan out the new ones with her.
I've decided to post pics as I go so you can how they come together, they should be pretty cool, they certainly have enough different things on them!

Some Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Doctor Who of course!

Supernatural, Harry Potter, Ouran High School Host Club, Welcome to NightVale

Sherlock and Homestuck

Hetalia and RWBY
What I didn't take pictures of is Avengers and My Little Pony, but they'll be on there.

Now THAT took some work.

Send wine and maybe reference images.
I'll be using #onedozenfandoms for the progress on these.

These are going to be a challenge, but they should be fun and she's pretty excited about what I'm going to do with them.

So, I guess I'm off to break out the paints. (Which is just as well since it's about -27 today from what I saw)

Stay warm and safe, be awesome and make good art!

  1. Your shoes are awesome! One of these days I am going to tangle on a pair of sneakers for me. One day. My post is for days 44 and 45. I haven't done today's yet. I plan on doing my inchie as soon as I get my school work done - probably will post later on in the week.

  2. I love your shoes. These are going to be quite a challenge with such a small canvas.

For me today, another circular grid tangle, Crux by Henrike Bratz.

  3. Oh man, I thought I was one with a dozen fandoms! Love Bloo from Fosters and we are MLP fans...even my little boy likes MLP (Rainbow Dash, as a matter of fact, lol).
I could go on and on. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress of the sneakers, I'm sure they're going to be awesome!!
My submission today are some Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter blondies I baked up recently.
    They're sooo yummy!!

  4. Those sneakers are goinf to be awesome. I submitted some more Jane Monk string tiles. Could you ask Kat if I can have a blondie? My sweet tooth is in overdrive right now and I don't have anything sweet in the house other that pink fake sugar.

  5. Sneakers are intriguing! Looking forward to seeing where you go with them. I've got a partially finished project up today - Sometimes I don't always have a finished project but just play with my materials. Today's entry is an experimentation day.

  6. Those are going to be fantastic! I hope they have a glow cloud! (I'm a full-on Night Vale geek these days!) In fact, I've got something coming up on that in the near future.

  7. I just put up my second entry - somehow I am way off. No surprise considering how I can get scattered. Well, anyway, according to my high tech post-it system, this is my 46 day entry.
