Zentangle frost and #onedozenfandom custom sneakers

Laura over at I am the Diva  must be inside my head. Her challenge this week is to tangle using tools you don't normally use.
Like... Frost? Ice? Snow?
Got plenty of that!
My daughter and I actually did a lot of that this weekend on the various windows in the house because it's fun and a new medium.
This is really hard to see, it was super hard to photograph but try it! It's fun!! (Don't freeze while you are doing it!)

Fingertips and frost. :) You know you want to! Or maybe you don't. Maybe you'd rather go to the beach. On second thought, let's go to the beach! Someone come get me! LOL If you don't like in snowpocalypse country, I'd like to encourage you to buy some crystal effects markers and try it on your mirrors and windows. They're by crayola and they're cheap and fun! In fact I used some in my art journal a few weeks ago because I love the look of frost, even though I'm desperate for some sunshine!

I was very busy this weekend... indoors, finishing my daughter's sneakers.For those of you that don't follow my blog regularly I have been creating a pair of custom sneakers for my daughter based on her love of fandoms. If you want to see them in process I used the hashtag #onedozenfandoms on instagram and fb.
I'm really proud of them, the hardest part was getting everything to work together and to be the way she wanted it.I also thought this was a great opportunity to play with my new light box and practice taking pictures for my etsy shop (Whimsy by Kelly) I did not edit them at this point, other than to rotate or crop them, that'll be my next endeavor. So, lots of pictures for all of you!!!

Not behind!

I looked at the clock a little while ago and was like... Ooops! I'm late! I'm behind on my post again... 

Well, I think that everyone has times in their life that are busier than others and that life doesn't fall neatly into order.
It would be nice if it did and everything went where it was supposed to be, on time, when it was supposed to, how it was supposed to and that people (and life) didn't get sidetracked, but that's not how real life goes.

When I first started my challenge this year, one of the things I thought about was writing a bunch of posts in advance, or at least being 2 or 3 days ahead and I considered it, but then I thought better of it.

The entire purpose of the challenge is to show that creativity is an important part of every day life. If I can't find a way to fit in my post (which some days might be the only thing I get created!) then I would have set myself up for failure from the start.

So, it's not going to be perfect, there isn't going to be a specific time each day when I promise it will be here. I do promise to try and post MOST days before noon my time (eastern) but some days it will be later.

As for being behind...
We've lost a couple people because they felt they were behind. You're not. Dive in. Move forward.
Remember I told you 300 times? That means that if you hadn't even considered joining until close to the middle of march you could still complete the 300 days!
And if you join AFTER that? There are still fun giveaways and great encouragement and opportunities to push yourself too.

I am going to create a couple of posts for days when I might not feel well, or in case of emergency, that way they'll always be there for me to just hit a button and go, but I promise to be doing this right along with you. :)

ALL THE FANDOMS!

I have a 17 year old daughter who is into pretty much EVERY major fandom out there.
I do custom sneakers. In fact, her Doctor Who were some of the very first and were what launched my Etsy shop.
See? That's her name in Galifreyan and I worked FOREVER on that galaxy. Something super cool is she's also a Disney girl and her name has a hidden mickey in it. :D

So... fast forward to today. Her beloved Doctor Who's have seen better days. (But for those who wonder how they hold up.... these are 2 years, 2 months, worn almost every day and survived a foreign exchange trip as well) but it IS time for new ones.

So this morning, I used my creative side to dive in and plan out the new ones with her. 

I've decided to post pics as I go so you can how they come together, they should be pretty cool, they certainly have enough different things on them!
