I finished this earlier this morning.. Day 5!

So I've been working on a project ever since I saw the whole sharpie on mugs phenomenon take off and I loved it.. but I was skeptical.
I made sure to find items that rendered my finish project food safe because..
1. I want to make an entire set to match the kitchen decor I've ALWAYS WANTED BUT NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIND!!!! (Strawberries are NOT THAT WEIRD people!)
2. As soon as I mention it I had people want to buy sets. Ok then. I'm not going to sell them if they can't eat off them so began my quest until I found items that would be fine.

Here's my test piece. I started it yesterday and finished it up today. It's not terribly intricate because the next step is to pass it around to every member of my family with the explicit directions to try and destroy it, and I knew I'd be sad if they were successful and I'd spent tons of time creating it. Plus, this is a favorite design of mine. (I do promise to update on how it holds up!)

So that is what I did to be creative today.
How are you coming along in my 30 day Kreative challenge?
( Update because I forgot to add a prompt earlier, Thanks Bev for the reminder!so here it is!)
For your project today, consider doing something you've been wanting to try for a while, a new pattern, a new technique, a new project!

Rules and prizes can be found here...

Some questions I'm getting asked a lot...
Q:Can I jump in even though you are in progress?
A:Yes, please do!

Q:Does this count?
A: Did you feel like you were creating something? If so.. yes!

Q: Can I submit something for a different day?
A: Yes, but only until the Sunday of that week for it to count towards contest entries.

So add your link to wherever you posted what you made in the linkey, leave me a comment so I can come check it out and make something fun!

  1. One more question for you ... If I were to post a past project do you want the link on the current day - or the day it was suppose to go on? Ex - where would you like me to link my Monday efforts? Here or on Mondays post?

    1. Put it on Monday unless you are posting, say 3 for M, T, W, then post it on the last one. If that makes sense. :)

    1. I'm like 100 behind on hers, what I've been doing is I jumped in "current" and did the ones while she was posting them. Now that she's taken a break I am working on the previous! I love those and they really let me do some fun stuff!

  4. Thanks Kelly for your challenge! Great idea and loads of fun. I'll be doing mainly ATCs since I need to get enough to start a trading session. :)
Something I've been wanting to try ... Shelley Beauch's cercles!
Well here's my first try : you draw circles first then tangle them together. I'll have to come back to it, it's really great fun and I've just got the hang of what she meant.

  5. I did the part yesterday that I had always been wanting to try and oddly enough I've been putting off washing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen to do art. Anyway, the thing I've been wanting to do is to use the skin of acrylic paint that is left on the pallet as part of a collage. As you can see in the collage that I finished today, I cut one of the dresses out of an acrylic skin. I love how it turned out and now I'm not going to worry about "wasting" paint when it dries on my pallet! I am LOVING this challenge.

  6. I really love the plate! I drew on a mug for a friend awhile back, but I mailed it to her so I can't show you a photo. :)

I have considered drawing on shoes, but I have to wear these big-assed orthotics and men's shoes... and of course they have to fit JUST right. But I'm watching for some canvas shoes that will work, I am dying to try it.

    1. I paint on converse all the time, it's one of the things I do on commission but I have YET to put my pen to the gorgeous white all stars that are waiting in my closet.:D Soon. During this challenge I think!

  7. I love the plate. I want to try a mug some time. Maybe this month I will find the time to do just that! Do you heat set the plate after drawing on it?

    1. I did heat set it. Right now, it's being run through my moms dishwasher for the 5th time (since mine is hopelessly broken). So far so good.
