I was really excited the other day to see a new one pop up! Wooohoo!
As soon as I saw the template I imagined flower baskets. Then I read further and her theme was HAPPY. Spring makes me happy, and while it's a bit of a deviation from my usual approach to these, I have to say I'm really pretty pleased with the results.
I actually did most of it yesterday but I finished it this morning so it's going to count as my Day 12 project for MY 30 day creative challenge. (This way hopefully I can be almost a day ahead and get these posted for you a little earlier than I have been.)
If you are new here, you've found us on day 12 of a 30 day creative challenge. You are still more than welcome to join in! I really hope you do!
You can find the details here and today's art prompt is.. Growth.
However you want to interpret that... I actually can't wait to see!
Here's today's linkey thing!
i love the border around the outside - it ties your whole piece together - beautiful work :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alice! I had a lot of fun with it!
DeleteI'm actually working on this template today (I'm a day ahead too). I really like yours - the way you've got those mookas nestled behind and looking like a seperate element is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jody. I really liked this template. I love mandalas and have been working on creating a bunch of my own for my own projects. It was wonderful to see one of Erins again!
DeleteYou art is pretty, as always. :) I need to admit something tho....I am not always sure what you are setting as your theme for us to use each day. I know you just want us to be creative in some way.....I am used to a challenge giving me a theme..... :).
ReplyDeleteHey Terrie, there is an art prompt given almost every day. (Sometimes I forget) I don't want to be too specific because I have people who are doing different things.
DeleteReally I just want you to create, I put the prompt there to spark an idea, and if it does, great, if not that's ok too.
I think next month I might go to weekly challenges and gear them towards drawing/painting specifically, but for this month I really did want it to just open up to everyone and hope that they felt inspired to MAKE something. :)
Kelly, I'm no fan of zendalas but this is very pretty and easter-like; and suits the wonderful summer weather we're having here in France.
ReplyDeleteMy day 12, with prompt from day eleven (throw in some dots) is also my response to de Diva challenge. It being emotionnally intense I really couldn't hurry it and to be honest, it drained me so, I didn't have the energy for a second tangle even if I had had the time.
I love what you've done here Nat. I know what you mean about that one being a very emotional challenge, which is largely why I have put it off so long, normally I do it as soon as it is posted. Much love to you and your daughter for her bravery and courage. We have beads of courage here in the US too, it seems a shame that is not the case everywhere. :(
DeleteI love your zendala! It is gorgeous. I struggled with this template when I did it. Nothing seemed to fit for me. Sometimes they are like that, for whatever reason. I was reading the comments and saw that you are planning a challenge next month also - yahoo! This has been fun. I think a weekly one might be easier - well, not now so much but when school starts for me it will for sure.
ReplyDeleteYour basket zendala is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the way that turned out! My favorite part is the outer border between the baskets. Symmetrical enough to fit, but not exactly the same on each side. Very pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the airy-ness AND groundedness about your mandala. Have a wonderful Father's Day with your musical family! :)
ReplyDeleteLike your Pea-nuckle baskets. Think this work so well as a basket. Like the vines and flora around the outside. Nice shading.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty and flowing this turned out with the leaves around it. It almost looks like birds nests up in the trees :)
ReplyDeleteReally lovely Zendala, Kelly - unusual and very pretty. Axxx
ReplyDeleteLike others I love the flowery leafy border, a very elegant zendala. Linda x
ReplyDeleteA delight to my eyes - its very elegant Kelly.
