Mooka Madness!!!

Sometimes it's fun to just play with one pattern. This was a fun monotangle!
(I'm a huge fan of mooka anyway!)

Do you like to do monotangles? I find it can be so incredibly relaxing.
Love getting into that zen place with it!

Shading made all the difference with this one too!

Mooka Magic!

I have a lot of chalkboard space in my studio and sometimes I like to do monotangles on it.
When I first tried Mooka I found it to be quite the struggle, and then after a great deal of practice and patience, I found my groove with it.
Now... Mooka is a favorite.

The nice part about playing with patterns on chalkboards is I can try variants and it gives me a nice flow for when I teach. (My tangling on a bigger surface is never as neat as on tiles. I'm a tile girl)

No shading on this though if I'd had another color of chalk handy I could have.

Do you have tangles you practice over and over? Were they ones you loved from the start or ones that have grown on you?

Pen work!

Today I am more focused on sharing with the world one young lady, who started college today.
One of the greatest creations I've ever had a part in.
Congrats Cheyenne. I am so incredibly proud of you, you are going to do amazing things. I hope the world is ready for you.

But I do have this to share as well.
(I'd like to say it kept me from crying like a mom on the first day of kindergarten... but nope)

Playing with Mooka

Today's bit of creativity is less about the artwork itself and more about my playing with Vine to see if I can do some of what I'd like to going forward.
I finally got something I'm sort of happy with. Not so much the finished piece, but the clip. :)
If you like them let me know and I'll do more that actually have some real content to them.

Go make something awesome! It's a great day!

Mostly invisible creations

I've been playing with my website again on the back end. I'm probably going to be upgrading to a different website soon... which means a lot of changes, but the blog piece will stay intact.
It's amazing how much creativity goes into some of these things.

Also, if you're local (Western NY area), and want to join my MeetUp group, you can do that here!

I also have a lot of painting to do this weekend and I've done a lot of tangling the last few days so I'm kind of taking it easy. but I did get the weekly focus challenge done this morning for Square One:Purely Zentangle. It's Mooka.
I adore Mooka although I used to be afraid of it.

Today I get to spend time with one of my favorite people in the universe, my little niece! :D
I hope your day is even half as good as mine will be, and that you have time to make something awesome!

Til tomorrow then... Keep creating!

TGIF!!!!!

Today is FRIDAY!
My kids asked me since I'm self-employed why that matters. I told them because it's FRIDAY!!! Duh??
Weirdos.
Anyway... TGIF!!! YAY FRIDAY!
(Been a really long week at Casa Kelly)

Friday's also mean a new challenge over at Square One:Purely Zentangle
This week the challenge is Wells. I know what I'll be working on later!

In the past I might have throw the past couple days out in terms of the chance and time to be creative. Instead I found it really helped me be less stressed.

Here's a bit of renaissance style tangling for you today!

This is almost a copy of a design I did on my folder that I keep my business supplies in because I wanted to see if I could recreate the look and tada! YAY!

Just as an FYI, I'm running a special in my etsy shop today, $10 off on custom converse if you're interested.
