Awash in color!

I have been doing some watercolor washes to tangle on... some I like, some I don't... but I thought I'd share some!

I'm not sure what' I'll do with them, I really liked tangling on my inks papers so I think that they will make good backgrounds!

Plus it gives me some practice with technique.

I also made bread. Well, I'm MAKING bread. It's rising in the oven.

What are you doing today?

Fall flowers!

My favorite color is October.
I know it's a meme but it is. I posted it as my facebook cover photo today... because YES. Fall. PUMPKINSPICEEVERYTHING and crunchy leaves.
Oranges and reds and burgandy and yellows and greens.

Like this watercolor.

What is your favorite thing about fall?

What are you working on today?

Watercolors!

So I had a busy weekend and I'm not really sure why my post from yesterday didn't post, but I did write it! I posted it this morning and I think it stuck that time!

I had a great class on Saturday night (see the previous post) and then another great one yesterday!
I'll post more about that class later!

Here's a work in progress I've been doing... another watercolor for my botanical collection.

And finished

I actually think I liked it better half done, but I do like it.

I wish I could draw..

If I had a dollar for every time someone, anywhere, saw me drawing and said that, or something similar, to me I'd have enough money to expand the studio!
Instead what I've come to realize is that people really don't think they can and that makes me sad.
I love when I have a group like I did last night and people put pen to paper~

Zentangle really is art for everyone.
It isn't like this

It really is step by step, piece by piece, penstroke by penstroke until you come up with something amazing.
Like these ladies did.

Aren't they beautiful?

CanT a tangle that's new to me!

I've been practicing this one and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

It's Can T by Chris Titus.

Hope you are doing something fun today!

Feeling bold and a little sassy!

Somehow both of these designs look sassy to me. That's the word that comes to mind. I had a graphic pen in hand for a lot of them and I'm sure it had a lot to do with the way they turned out, plus I was experimenting with just some bold looks.

Today's kind of an exiting day. I'm picking the winners of the 3 prototype boxes I'm giving away this afternoon.

Those will be sent out in the next week and then on Oct 5th I'll be announcing everything I can about Tangle Troves ™

I hope you're even close to as excited as I am!!!

Opposites attract

I love mixing patterns that are different. I love the curve of something wild and freeflowing mixed with structured, more restrained patterns.
It creates a fun effect!

Tomorrow I'll be making the announcements for who will be getting prototypes of my project.

If you haven't entered yet, you can still do that here

Patterns on Bijou

I have a couple new to me tangles that I've been practicing. I always like to practice them on Bijou tiles because they are perfect for monotangles!

One is CanT by Cris Titus and I am going to have to work on it... it's not coming easy to me, but I'll get there!

And this one is Rundl by Ela Reiger, which I LOVE.

I love learning new patterns!

It's fall!

I was watching a comic the other day and she was like "girls are all like... C'mon babe, it's fall! Let's do fall s@#! and that's how I feel right now!
BRING ON FALL!
Give me my gorgeous colored crunchy leaves, cute boots, cozy sweaters and my pumpkin spice everything!

Ahem. Sorry. I'll get myself under control again in a sec.

Ok so some watercolors work nicely for fall. fall calls for color.

My leaves tend to be more red than this but my yellow got away from me.

So expect to see more leaves and pumpkins and hear about my pumpkin bread and pumpkin spice chai tea and everything....
but it's only fair because very soon I'll be buried in snowbanks higher than your head and so many shades of gray that I'll want to cry.

Fall is nature's little gift to try and make us forget what's coming! LOL

Fun with Photography!

I struggle with pictures. I always have, often I have great ideas in my head and just can't capture them the way I want to, but... .
I do have beautiful light in my studio.

So yesterday, my friend Sara brought over the pieces of pottery we'd done so we could take pictures!

And we got creative..... and I'm happier with these photos than any photos I've taken before
(Sorry, lots of pictures in this post!)

I know they're far from perfect, but I'd love your opinons!

I think the little green check works best for this one

These are some magnets, they turned out pretty fun!

And Christmas magnets to practice for the upcoming holidays!
