EVERYONE! There are only 52 days til Halloween!

Ok, I'm the biggest Halloween nerd around. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it so much I would drink pumpkin spice milkshakes in April in anticipation.

And now, it's time. :D
So I hope you're prepared for an onslaught of Halloween extravaganza-ness.
Plus.. remember I have Pinterest. LOL
I felt it was only safe to warn you.

I recently acquired this amazing book secondhand about shadow casting. It's super cool and I like it a lot but I really loved the cuts.

So I thought to myself.. hmmmmmmm.. you could probably DO that. And so I tried and made what is going to be turned into the most awesome Halloween card EVER! This is not my design. I copied it from the book. I plan on making my own but I wanted something to work with as I went so I could tell if I was doing it right.
The book is William and the Magic Ring and it's by Laura Robinson.

I like the way it turned out. In fact it's one of those cards I like so much I'll probably never give it to anyone because sometimes I do that.

I remembered how much I loved paper cutting. I used to do it all the time.
Things I've learned and was reminded of:
BRAND new xacto blades. Every time.
Cutting mats are important
Doubling the paper I was using was just about perfect for this project.
Pop dots.

Not too bad right? :D A bit of potential? Something that could make some awesome things in the future!

I hope you had a great weekend. I have a busy week ahead.
1 newsletter made it out, the other will go out today!

  2. Love it! I had my first PSL today from Starbucks. I so should've gotten the venti, haha.
Can't wait to see more paper cutting cards, that's a super cool idea!

  3. That paper cutting is very cool! I have a friend who create surfaces for the decorative painting industry, and he has created a whole product line called OmbrArts.
