Since it was a new tangle that I had never done before (that happens a lot honestly) I grabbed my sketchbook, threw a string down and just started tangling Rixty and the variations. I figured I'd not plan it and see where it ended up and then slide in whatever else seemed to work.
Here's my final result and I'm actually pleased with it. I also really like this new pattern and think it will be one of my "go-to's" because I like that woven look and really liked the versatility of it.
Anyway, here is my take on Challenge #163.
And how did Tuesday come and go already? This week for Cheryl's weekly Tackle it Tuesday challenge over on Artful Creations, our letter is H.
I used:
- Heartstrings
- Heartrope
- Hibred
- Hollibaugh
- Huggins
- Hopscotch
- Hi-C's
and then.. I filled in with some hatching!
I'm going to start a challenge of my own on here soon I think, a very quick tangle a day I think. If you're interested, follow me or shoot me an email over at WhimsybyKelly@gmail.com and I'll let you know when it gets started!
Alright, I guess that's it for today!
Oh.. one more thing! How many pens are sitting in front of you RIGHT now???
Both are beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteHa! 27 pens! ( I do have a pen fetish!) Love your two tiles!
ReplyDeleteI had 23 when I asked! LOL
ReplyDeleteHey there, Kelly. I really like your Weekly Challenge tile with Rixty and how you made me remember the Salmon steak I had a week ago at the restaurant served on a cedar plank...your rixty looks like it is served on a cedar plank too. Nicely done with the other tangles in there too. I have 19 pens, 1 pencil, and 1 eraser pen on my desk waiting for me to use them again.
ReplyDeleteVery well done.
ReplyDeleteVery neatly done! Love how you combine all your patterns. I always have difficulty combining patterns.
ReplyDeleteHow many pens? Right now ... 4: black, brown, a white gel thing I hate and the new sanguine pen and my beloved pencil! ;) Have a beautiful day!
Nice tile. I like your Scrawlz border across the page,
ReplyDeleteBoth are very lovely! Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteAwesome tiles Kelly. You never cease to amaze.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much everyone! As far as combining patterns, it's part of how I pick the next pattern.. what do my "edges" look like, what can I use to make it go from one to another. It's my biggest struggle honestly... but one I work on, so hearing that you like the way I transition them is really motivating to me!!! :) Thank you!!
